General Community Partners

Enterprise supports organizations that enrich the St. Louis Community.

Our Areas of Focus

Enterprise employees walked the Blue Angels balloon through the VP Parade on the Fourth of July.

The St. Louis community is home not only to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car headquarters but, more important, home to our employees, our customers, and our neighbors. Enterprise supports community organizations that make living in this community more rewarding.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters helps young people succeed through mentoring and friendship. "Bigs" (adult volunteers) work with "littles" (child participants) on a one-day, group or long-term basis. The organization worked with more than 2,100 young people in 2005 and continues to see adults who are interested in making a difference in the life of a child. The current list of boys and girls waiting for mentors stands at about 1,000. Enterprise supports organizations that have wide support in the community. BBBS provides a positive benefit to the children, their families, and the volunteers who participate in this program.

City of Clayton

City of Clayton

The city of Clayton is the second-largest business center in the metropolitan St. Louis region. The city is also home to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car corporate headquarters. Enterprise management maintains strong relationships with both city and county government officials. The company also provides support to the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, the Saint Louis Art Fair, and the Saint Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival. Enterprise strives to be a good corporate citizen in the communities in which it resides.

City of St. Louis

City of St. Louis

The city of St. Louis, Mo., is the historic center of a 2.5-million-person metropolitan region. The city is governed by Mayor Francis Slay. Enterprise management believes that a strong central core is vital to the economic development of the region and to the businesses that reside in it. Company representatives maintain strong relationships with key city officials and agencies. Both Enterprise and the Taylor family provide needed financial support to the city's cultural institutions. Enterprise also provides leadership when regional issues demand the expertise of local businesses.

Clayton Chamber of Commerce

Clayton Chamber of Commerce

The Clayton Chamber of Commerce provides "leadership, information and advocacy" and works to "present and sponsor programs and events that sustain the economic environment" and nurture the interdependent relationship of Clayton with the metropolitan area and the state of Missouri. The organization's 405 members are Clayton business owners. Enterprise strives to be a good corporate citizen in the communities in which it resides and wants to be an active contributor to the city's economic development. Enterprise is a member of the Clayton Chamber and provides leadership through an employee volunteer who serves on its board of directors.

Disabled Athlete Sports Association

The Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) works "to enhance the skills that these athletes already have and encourage them to become involved in community-based programs whenever possible." The organization provides opportunities that "help to build a child's self-esteem and social skills that are sometimes lowered by the community's perspective on their disability and their ability to participate in sports." DASA develops and organizes sporting events for children between the ages of 5 and 18 with physical and visual disabilities. The St. Louis group has adopted DASA as a partner organization.

Fair St. Louis/Live on the Leeve

Fair St. Louis

Fair St. Louis/Live on the Levee was started in 1981 by a group of civic leaders who wanted to create an event that would unite the region in an effort to promote St. Louis to the country and the world. The current goal of the organization is to attract people to downtown and to the riverfront by offering free, live entertainment and fireworks for a six-week period. In 2005, Fair St. Louis merged with Celebrate St. Louis, the producer of the Live on the Levee concert series. Fair St. Louis/Live on the Levee has become a St. Louis tradition since its inception. Providing sponsorship for this organization allows Enterprise to partner with a fun, outdoor event that reaches thousands of people throughout the summer months.

Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club

Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club

Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club's mission is "to inspire and enable youth aged 6 to 18 to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens." The organization is located in north St. Louis City and serves the children living in surrounding neighborhoods through its after-school, weekend, and summer programs. All children are welcome, regardless of their ability to pay membership fees. The club has more than 2,600 members. HHB&GC is considered one of the more successful programs serving low- and moderate-income youth in the inner city. Our connection to this organization allows Enterprise to build the community by participating in a neighborhood program with our leadership and financial resources.

Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club

Mathews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club

Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club strives to emphasize respect, restraint, and responsibility through athletic competition and recreational activity. The organization reaches out to inner-city children throughout the St. Louis region and serves more than 40,000 young men and women, aged 5 to 18. Enterprise partners with this organization because it is one of the key organizations providing leadership to inner-city children. Our participation with Mathews-Dickey helps the organization build strong adults.

Special Olympics of Missouri

Special Olympics of Missouri

Special Olympics of Missouri provides "year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community." At the request of its employees, the St. Louis group has adopted Special Olympics of Missouri as an employee-sponsored partnership.

St. Louis Black Repertory Company

St. Louis Black Repertory Company

The St. Louis Black Rep provides "platforms for theatre, dance and other creative expressions from the African-American perspective that heighten the social and cultural awareness of its audiences." The St. Louis Black Repertory Company is the "nation's largest, professional African-American theatre company." Enterprise partners with the St. Louis Black Rep because of the organization's prominent cultural role in the community. Our commitment of both time and resources has helped Enterprise build strong relationships within the African-American community and has enhanced our reputation with the organization's audience.

Cultural Festivals

St. Louis Cultural Festivals

Cultural Festivals strives "to enrich the community by bringing together people of all backgrounds to celebrate and share arts experiences." The organization produces the Saint Louis Art Fair, the U.S. Bank Saint Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival, and the Big Read. Enterprise supports both the St. Louis Art Fair and the Jazz Festival because they bring visitors to the city of Clayton and provide economic development for the city.

United Way

United Way

The United Way raises money, mobilizes volunteers, strengthens agencies, and works to fulfill unmet needs in the community. Through its annual campaign, the organization raises funds to support a network of 200 health and human service organizations in the St. Louis region. These community programs help to increase the safety, health, and independence of the residents of the bi-state region. The Enterprise Foundation supports the United Way by providing a dollar-for-dollar match of employee donations. Our generous employees make annual pledges of support through the workplace campaign, and some of our employees also provide their time and talent by serving on allocation panels, committees, and the board of directors.

Veiled Profit Parade

VP Parade

The Veiled Profit Parade has entertained local families for many years and has become a St. Louis tradition. Each year the parade features an Enterprise-sponsored balloon handled be our employee volunteers. Enterprise proudly supports this community favorite.
