HRIS volunteers at Operation Food Search

Volunteer

For the past five years, the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) department has made community service a priority by volunteering at a local organization during a department outing. This fall, 17 employees volunteered at Operation Food Search – a local food bank that serves approximately 300 food pantries in the greater St. Louis area – to help label and pack canned food items. The group also helped categorize coats donated to the organization through Kurt Warner's annual "Warners' Warm–up" winter–coat drive.

"It was a rewarding experience to see how many coats had been donated by the community," says Andrea Smith, HRIS Coordinator. "Operation Food Search only has three employees, so it's amazing to see the amount of work that volunteers have dedicated to make both the food pantry and the coat drive programs successful. And I'm glad I was able help."

Operation Food Search distributes more than 1 million pounds of food and household items to food pantries and soup kitchens that offer emergency hunger–relief to nearly 100,000 people every month. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit www.ofsearch.org.
