March of Dimes mission hits home for Enterprise employee

For the March of Dimes, the new year means naming a new WalkAmerica Ambassador Family. But for Enterprise employee Kevin Joyce and his family, it means the conclusion of their journey in that role during 2007.

Kevin, Assistant Vice President of Remarketing, and his wife, Heather, became familiar with the March of Dimes in October 2003, after their son, Nolan, was born 11 weeks early.

“Nolan was in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children's Hospital for eight weeks, and we've been involved with the March of Dimes ever since,” Kevin says. “About a year ago, the St. Louis chapter asked us to be the 2007 WalkAmerica Ambassador Family. Given the wonderful outcome our son has enjoyed, and the benefits we received through the organization, we felt privileged to be asked.”

As ambassadors, the Joyce family shared their own personal story to help promote WalkAmerica – the March of Dimes' annual charity walk. The family participated in fundraising activities and appeared in radio spots and newspaper articles on behalf of the organization. Nolan, today a healthy, happy 4–year–old, even joined in the fun by kicking off the 2007 walk in St. Louis.

Supported by Enterprise, the March of Dimes strives to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through research, education and advocacy.
