National Reservations delivers spooky surprise to St. John's Mercy Medical Center

By Jennifer Maxfield: Manager, Employee Communications

As part of a year–long focus on volunteering, the specialty teams at National Reservations kicked off a haunting new approach to community outreach. To add a bewitching glow to an otherwise scary place, they worked with St. John's Mercy Medical Center to deliver carved pumpkins powered by battery–run lights door–to–door throughout the pediatric floor on Oct. 26.

All of the specialty team members got involved, either by making a $10 donation to support the effort, picking up the pumpkins, lending their creative carving talents or serving on the delivery crew. The Enterprise employees received such a gratifying response, they plan to carry on this new tradition in coming years.

National Reservations' year of volunteering began with a Volunteer Fair, where employees were encouraged to reach out to the local community. Other teams within the group have represented Enterprise by stocking shelves at the St. Louis Area Foodbank; sorting clothes and helping prepare people for job interviews in conjunction with Dress for Success, which promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing them with professional attire; and playing soccer with a group of children with disabilities who participate in the Special Needs Soccer Association (SPENSA).
